Just when is a good time?

Today is July 1st 2020,
Looking at my original post, things seem to have gone slightly amiss, as I will detail within the next few pages, days, weeks ahead.
It is 3am and I've just cleaned my feet, cleaned my floors and cleaned up a stretch of dog detritus (carrots and cooked meat)- NO MORE treats for you Docie. ( At least it was on hardwood and didnt squeeze between my toes!)
Be warned, some of the following is just as nasty.

I actually started this blog several months ago about the demise of a dear friend, but never took it to its conclusion. Perhaps more on that later.

Now, as we roll towards the end of March 2020, I'm wondering if I should be preparing for my own fate.
I dont have anything wrong with me yet, but, then again, a little over 2 months ago, neither did 700,000 other occupants of this planet and now 34,000 of them are dead.
In recent days, horror stories have flooded the media, as hospitals the world over struggle to sustain life, and where that failed, to dispose of the dead in a reasonably orderly fashion.
As a 67 year old, Covid-19 has given me approximately 4% risk of dying from complications. The impending shortage of medical equipment, swabs, tests, respirators, etc. might increase that somewhat. Post recovery complications are apparently causing mild to severe depletion of respiratory  function, leaving victims with permanent breathing difficulties. So, having said that, I am not sure, given the circumstances, I want to go through the experience.
Over the years I recall watching a number of my relatives have strokes which left them barely able to move for months on end, followed by years of limited mobility and further strokes which ultimately killed them. No Thank YOU.
The only strokes I'm interested in are the short ones towards a great night of ..........!!!!!!!
    I warned you!!
Anyway, July 1st marks a turning point in the year, although, not quite so with Covid19, or as I prepare to call it #TrumpVirus20.
Having done little to improve the situation the US pRESIDENT ( Deliberate Small PEE,PEE) has done little to mitigate the circumstances of the spread.
I never imagined a virus could be politicized but I never imagined a fake billionare, 3rd rate game show bit player could become the puppet of a Communist manipulator like Putin. Mind you Trump is as weak as a Tetley teabag on the fourth dip, so I guess it's expected.
Tonight I am watching a David Gilmour Special on YouTube, having resigned myself to the fact that epic concerts in 30,000 seat arenas might be a thing of the past.
My original plans for March were to travel to Portugal for a revisit to Lisbon and Porto followed by a couple of weeks in the Algarve. So much for that.
While Canada has taken a hammer from the impact of the virus it is streets ahead of the USA with it's dysfunctional triumvirate that is stripping the WhiteHouse of any coherent defence plan - DUmphukDaddy, Dipshit Donald Jr and Eric the Half a Brain continue to piss up a rope while attacking anyone and everyone with a brain and a rational thought on effective prevention.
London, Ontario  is not the brightest spark in the universe but its infection rate is significantly lower than Toronto, Montreal and Quebec City, so hopefully sanity will prevail.
While mask wearing is still a personal decision we have yet to see videos of Karens and Ivanka's throwing temper tantrums and frozen chickens as their interpretation of the First Amendment becomes apparent.
Our leaders, Justin Trudeau and Ontario's Ford have yet to throw barbs at opponents, nor have they tweeted lies with the regularity of #Trump. who's rants are as frequent as bowel movements after a Taco bell pig out.
After almost 4 months, I have yet to lose a friend or close contact to the #Covid19 shit spread. And for that I am eternally grateful. A couple of visits to Toronto for medical appoitmnets left me doing side trips to T&T and other Asian food markets. Most demand masks but T&T's social distancing was none existent and I was almost into full blown panic attack by the time we left.
Reduced traffic volumes in London have many speed jockeys blowing through FULL ON Red lights at speeds in excess of 20 kph above posted limits, so crossing streets is a bigger threat than Covid.
My daughter keeps me updated on “pharmacy life”, something I can’t say I’ve missed since retiring last Fall. The hot sellers on Canada Day were scabies treatments and Plan B🤦‍♂️😝. So much for social distancing.
 Happy Canada Day!
